On behalf of the Financial Services Lawyers Association (FSLA) and Brown Rudnick, we invite you to attend a FSLA Academy series of training sessions on “Assertive Supervision – the FCA’s powers and approach, and how to challenge them”.
The series will provide a detailed but practical guide to various aspects of the FCA’s increasing focus on ‘assertive supervision’. It will consider what the FCA’s powers are, how the FCA goes about exercising its powers, and how the exercise of those powers can be challenged.
The Brown Rudnick team will be joined by a different guest expert for each of the sessions.
If your idea of a good Tuesday night is discussing VREQs and OIREQs, this is the series for you!
The series will consist of three sessions:
- Tuesday 6 October – FCA Supervisory Powers: Why they exist, what they are and how they are used (with Saima Hanif KC)
- Tuesday 27 October – FCA Supervisory Interventions: The FCA’s approach (with Michael Bewsey, FCA Technical Specialist)
- Tuesday 17 November – FCA Supervisory Action: Challenging the FCA (with Henry Reid)
Each session will be followed by drinks and canapés, providing an opportunity to network.
Location
The sessions will take place at Brown Rudnick’s offices (8 Clifford St, London W1S 2LQ).
Timings
For each session, registration will be open from 6.00pm and the session will start at 6:30pm, followed by drinks and canapés.
Members may register for as many of the sessions as they would like – it is not compulsory to attend all three. Please simply select those individual sessions of interest when registering your tickets. As our capacity for these sessions is limited please only register for those sessions that you know you will attend.
