MiFID II v MAR – A FSLA and Linklaters Seminar, 3 May 2017

The Financial Services Lawyers Association (FSLA) and Linklaters would like to invite you to attend an evening seminar on Wednesday 3rd May, 6.30pm, to be followed by a drinks reception.

Speakers from Linklaters and the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) will discuss key areas of cross-over between the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) which came into force on 3 July 2016 and the recast Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) which will come into force on 3 January 2018. Topics will include surveillance, data and record keeping, investment recommendations and inducements. The seminar will also cover the standalone topic of market soundings.

The seminar will be held at Linklaters’ offices: 1 Silk St, London, EC2Y 8HQ. Registration will be from 6pm with the talk starting at 6.30pm.

Trends in Enforcement Seminar, 16 March 2017

FSLA’s submission to Andrew Green QC on Maxwellisation

In April 2016, Parliament’s Treasury Committee announced that it had commissioned Andrew Green QC to conduct a review into Maxwellisation. The review was commissioned in part because of concerns Maxwellisation had played a role in the seven years taken to produce a report into the collapse of HBOS. On announcing the review, Andrew Tyrie MP, Chairman of the Treasury Committee, said ‘the public will want reassurance that Maxwellisation is fair and proportionate, and does not lead to unacceptable delays.’ FSLA’s submission to the review is below:
